Keeping financial and personal information secure is one of our most important responsibilities. Connect Credit Union is committed to protecting the information of our members and web site visitors. We value your trust and handle all personal information with care. As with information we collect through other means, we use the information you provide online to respond to your needs, service your accounts, and provide you with information about other services. This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time so that we can keep you updated as to our data privacy practices. If we make any material changes to our privacy practices the Privacy Policy will be updated by posting the revised version on the website under the Privacy Policy link on the website homepage. The updated Privacy Policy is effective as of the date listed at the top of this document. By accessing any of our products, services, websites or mobile applications after this date you agree to the terms of our Privacy Policy as of the last effective date

SECURE TRANSMISSIONS

To ensure information remains confidential, Connect Credit Union uses encryption technology such as Secure Socket Layer (SSL) to protect information you enter and submit from our website.

EMAIL SECURITY

Regular Internet email is not secure. You should never provide information that is sensitive or confidential such as your social security number, account number, or PIN numbers via email. We also ask that you do not send personal or account Information through regular email.  Contact us through secure messaging within online banking or by chat, phone, or in person. If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received by mail and telephone.

GEOLOCATION INFORMATION

The Connect CU Cards controls & alerts app periodically collects, transmits, and uses geolocation information to enable features that prevent fraudulent card use and send alerts, but only if the End User expressly authorizes collection of such information. Geolocation information can be monitored on a continuous basis in the background only while the Solution is being used or not at all, depending on the End User’s selection. End Users can change their location permissions at any time in their device settings.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

Many websites and apps use Google services to improve their content. When they integrate Google services, these sites and apps share information with Google. We use Google Analytics to better understand how users are visiting and using our sites. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit this site, what pages they visit when they do so, and what other sites they used prior to coming to this site. Google Analytics collects the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit this site, rather than your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through the use of Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. Although Google Analytics plants a cookie on your web browser to identify you as a unique user the next time you visit this site, the cookie cannot be used by anyone but Google. To provide you with easy access to information, Connect Credit Union may provide links to other websites such as mortgage companies, insurance companies, and government agencies. These links are provided as a convenience to our members. We do not guarantee or endorse any of the content in these links, and Connect Credit Union does not represent either the third party or the member if the two enter into a transaction. The privacy and security policies on these linked websites may differ from those practiced by Connect Credit Union. We encourage you to read the privacy policies of all websites you visit, especially before providing any personally identifiable non-public information.

DISABLING OF ONLINE & MOBILE BANKING ENROLLMENT

If you have enrolled in Online or Mobile Banking but wish to disable the enrollment, please contact the Credit Union at 800-445-7418. If you disable enrollment, you will not be able to log in to Online or Mobile Banking in the future. We cannot fully delete your Online and Mobile Banking enrollment/records due to legal obligations for retaining Member account information.

CHILDREN'S ONLINE INFORMATION PRIVACY

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 ("COPPA") restricts the collection, use, or disclosure of Personal Information from and about children under the age of 13 on the Internet. Connect Credit Union is committed to protecting the online privacy of the children who visit our site and complying with COPPA.

The Website is not directed to children under the age of 13 and we request that children under the age of 13 not provide personal information through the Website. Upon discovery that any such information has been supplied by children under the age of 13, we will disregard and delete that information. We urge parents to instruct their children to never give out their real names, addresses, or phone numbers without their permission when online.

We do not knowingly collect, maintain, or use personally identifiable information from the Website about children under the age of 13 without parental consent. Visit the Federal Trade Commission Website for more information about COPPA.

Do Not Track

Our websites and applications may, from time to time, collect information about your online activities, over time and across our different websites and applications. When you use our websites and applications, third parties may also collect information about your online activities, over time and across different internet websites, online or cloud computing services, online applications, or mobile applications. Some browsers support a "Do Not Track" feature, which is intended to be a signal to websites that you do not wish to be tracked across different websites you visit. Our Websites do not currently change the way they operate based upon detection of a "Do Not Track" or similar signal.

Sharing Information

We do not share your personal information with any affiliates, strategic partners, or anyone else. Should this policy change, you will be notified and given the opportunity to remove your personal information.

We utilize encryption/security software to safeguard the confidentiality of personal information we collect from unauthorized access or disclosure and accidental loss, alteration or destruction. We reasonably restrict access to nonpublic personal information to those individuals and entities who need to know that information to provide the products or services which we sell.  We will use our best reasonable efforts to train and oversee our employees and agents to ensure that your information will be handled responsibly and in accordance with this Privacy Policy.  We currently maintain physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards that reasonably guard nonpublic personal, consumer, and lender information.

Retention

We keep your information for as long as necessary in accordance with the purpose for which it was collected, our business needs, and our legal and regulatory obligations. If we dispose of your information, we will do so in a way that is secure and appropriate to nature of the information subject to disposal.
